Open in google mapFrom July 2 to September 3 2022
The McCord Museum invites you to take part in its brand-new historical tour through the heart of an iconic downtown neighbourhood: the Golden Square Mile.
Discover how the district evolved into the hub for arts, culture, education and business we know today. Learn about the heritage homes that were once the property of the city’s elite and hear stories about the neighbourhood’s leading figures and lesser-known residents – the owners and servants who lived and worked there. Find out more about the ties between Indigenous peoples and this neighbourhood at the foot of Mount Royal.
This 90-minute outdoor guided tour was developed in collaboration with McGill University’s School of Continuing Studies, its Department of History and Classical Studies and its Montreal History Group.
